Description
Description:
Unhulled sesame seeds keep the fibrous hull intact. They are flat, pear-shaped seeds with colours ranging from off-white, tan to dark brown. Sesame seeds have an oily, nutty flavour that complements many dishes.
Uses:
Sesame seeds are usually toasted before using and are excellent additions to soups, salads, fish and baked goods. Unhulled seeds can substitute hulled seeds in most recipes, yet they have a crunchier texture and may have a slightly more bitter taste.
